Taking Suppression to Another Level

Equifax enhances disConnect™ to improve campaign performance

London – 18th July 2006 – Equifax, the marketing information services company, has enhanced its leading suppression service - disConnect - to help marketers find and re-establish contact with gone-away customers thereby improving campaign effectiveness and saving costs.

Optimising the natural synergy between it’s disConnect suppression and reConnect new address services, Equifax has introduced a flagging system to it’s disConnect file to indicate where a forwarding address is available for a gone-away customer.  The new address can then be requested via an automated service that will provide Clients with results within minutes.

“Companies can lose contact with up to 15% of their customer base each year and gone-away customers continue to undermine the cost-effectiveness of marketing campaigns”, explained Dave Webber, Head of Products, Equifax Marketing Services.  “Through the integration of our suppression and reconnection services, marketers now have access to an efficient and cost-effective method of finding out if their customers have moved and where they have moved to. Over 58% of disConnect records now have a forwarding address, providing a powerful source of data for tailored customer communication activity”.

The disConnect and reConnect services can be supplied directly through Equifax or through selected leading UK bureaux.  Furthermore, the disConnect file can also be held onsite by clients to ensure immediate access to accurate and appropriate suppression data.

Dave Webber concludes: “disConnect continues to grow in terms of both innovation and data enhancement.  Now, with the integration of reConnect as part of the service, it will play an even greater role in improving campaign cost-effectiveness and performance.”
